Pre-Mastectomy Party

One of my very dear friends learned she has the breast cancer genetic mutation.  She made the tough decision to take control and have a double mastectomy.  She was returning to her home state to have the surgery.  I wanted her to leave knowing how much we love her!  Soooo, we had a good-bye party for her breasts!  There were a couple of games, such as "boob or no boob" (we would name an actress, and the players had to say if the actress had ever been topless in a movie) and "Name that rack"  (Match the celeb cleavage picture to her name).

None of these things were expensive at all.  The flowers were a big hit but they are soooo cheap!  You need 8 sheets of tissue paper and some floral wire or thin wire.

Strawberry flavoured "boob" cupcakes

What a rack!

Sugar cookies with white chocolate drizzle

All kinds of pink candies

Funfetti cupcakes with pink icing, dipped in sparkle sugar with pink chocolate breast cancer ribbons

Tissue paper flowers

  1. That is awesome! My mom went through this about 20 years ago, only one breast though. She didn't do anything like this, but I think the times have changed too.
I think this was so great! Make a negative into a positive!

  2. Thanks Gina! I thought it would be a great way to celebrate that she was taking control of her body and not waiting for cancer. Also, I wanted her to go into surgery knowing we all love her and are rooting for her!

I was lucky that this was around valentines day so finding pink decorations was easy and very inexpensive!
